Patani is a local government area in Delta State with administrative headquarters in the town of Patani. Patani local government area is in the southern senatorial district of Delta State otherwise known as Delta South Senatorial District alongside Bomadi, Burutu, Isoko North, Isoko South, Warri North, Warri South and Warri South-West local government areas. Patani local government area also forms a federal constituency alongside Bomadi local government area.
Patani local government area covers an area of 217 km². The local government area is bounded to the north by Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Isoko South local government areas, to the east, south and west by the Forcados River.
With a population of 67,391 as at the 2006 national population census, Patani local government area is the smallest local government area by population in Delta State.
