Sagamu (or Shagamu) is a local government area in Ogun State, with headquarters in the town of Sagamu. Sagamu local government area is in the eastern senatorial zone of Ogun State otherwise known as Ogun East Senatorial District alongside Ikenne, Remo North, Ijebu Ode, Odogbolu, Ijebu North-East, Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside local government areas. Sagamu local government area also forms a federal constituency alongside Remo North and Ikenne local government areas.
Sagamu local government area covers an area of 614 km². The local government area is bounded to the west by Ifo and Obafemi Owode local government areas, to the north by Obafemi Owode and Ikenne local government areas, to the east by Odogbolu local government area, and to the south by Lagos State.
